Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has repeatedly said that he is going to change the agricultural policies in the state.
Nandyala RARS has been crippled by Vaikapa govt. Allotment of
50 acres of 100 acres of land to medical college
has become a hindrance to researches
.
“For the first time at the village level with RBKs transparently, good things are happening to the farmers during your son’s tenure. Although we ask you to notice the difference between the previous regime and the current regime. I am proud to say that RBKs are going to completely change the way agriculture is done at the village level in the coming days’.
Ignoring the importance of the Nandyala regional agricultural research center with a history of 117 years, is stopping the research there? Even if we know that it is a center for making high-yielding Vangadas, allocating those lands for other purposes is not ignoring the interests of the farmers? Jagan, who often proclaims to be a farmer’s child, is actually stepmother’s love? At least the attention shown by the British.

Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been repeatedly saying that he is going to change the agricultural policies in the state, is doing immense good to the farmers during his tenure, but he is putting an iron foot on the most useful agricultural researches for the farmers. Ignoring the importance of agricultural research sites, their lands are being grabbed. The role of the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) at Nandyala is crucial in discovering varieties that can achieve high yields even under unfavorable climatic conditions. Important researches needed by millions of farmers across the state as well as across the country are conducted here. It includes the design of new plows, inventions of machinery useful for agriculture, and the infrastructure needed for the development of technologies. This place has become a platform for the invention of many types of Vangadas. One of the best agricultural research centers in the country, it has 100 acres of land in the heart of Nandyala. Of this, 50 acres have been allotted to the medical college. Despite opposition from many farmers and leaders of farmers’ associations, the government did not back down. As an alternative to those lands, lands were allotted in Tangdancha village, which is about 65 kilometers away from Nandyas. If the research location is in one place, if the lands are in another place, how can the research be carried out? How to check crops regularly? Scientists are worried about that. With this, the allotment of land in Tangdancha to R.A.R.S. was cancelled. Nandyala R.A.R.S. The development has been completely blown up by the government. Towards losing priority..
Nandyala MP Pocha Brahmananda Reddy previously served as an agronomist here. Now, during his tenure as an MP, this research position has lost its priority. It is proposed to build a Vaikapa office on a part of the land allotted for residences of scientists in R.A.R.S. It became controversial and TDP leaders withdrew the proposal due to mass protests. In the context of division of districts, Nandyala District Collector’s Office, D.R.O. Offices were also set up in R.A.R.S. As some approached the court, the respective offices were only allowed to stay for 16 months.
Extensive research on various crops
Nandyala Agricultural Research Station was established in 1906 during the British rule. It is recognized as the oldest agricultural research station in the country. In 1954 it became a Cotton Research Station and in 1980 it became a Regional Agricultural Research Station. Along with research on rice, cotton, sorghum, sorghum, sunflower, gram and tobacco crops, agricultural mechanization research is being done here. However, the government has allocated 50 acres for the medical college. 50 acres is left. These lands are not enough for research. In lieu of the lands taken, the authorities of the agricultural university are not paying attention to the government to allocate 365 acres for the future needs of the research center.
