The Kencharlahalli police on Saturday arrested a 29-year-old goods vehicle driver for attempting to murder his neighbour by slashing his throat,and drank his blood to avenge for the alleged betrayal and recorded the video of his gory act to upload it on social media on June 19.
The victim however managed to survive after the brother of the accused admitted him to the hospital on the condition of not to reveal it to anyone.
However the video went viral and reached the Kencharlahalli police who took cognizance and track down the victim before recording his statement and registering the case and arresting the accused and his brother for abetting to the crime.
Senior officer told reporters,the accused Vijay and the victim Maresh are neighbours and working as goods vehicle drivers.
Vijay suspected that Maresh having an affair with his wife and the duo used to chat on phone frequently .
On JUne 19,Vijay on the pretext of some work took Maresh to an isolated place in Siddapalli and assaulted him black and blue before slashing his throat .
Vijay asked his brother John Babu to record the video and suck the blood oozing out from the neck while Madesha was writhing in pain.
After several torturing for over an hour,the accused hearing the plead got him admitted in the hospital for treatment and threatened him not to reveal this incident with anyone and stay away from his wife .
The accused put up the video on social media to send a message that revenge has been taken against the person for betrayal .
Meanwhile the police who came across the video managed to track down Madesh and recorded his statement about the incident and arrested the accused .
The duo have been booked under attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and also under various sections of IT act.
