BBMP Town planning officer suspended after Trapped by ACB accepting bribe of RS.20 Lakhs :

Anti Corruption Bureau officials trapped a BBMP town planning officer while accepting Rs 20 lakh bribe from complainant for approval. The ACB recovered an additional Rs 7.46 lakh upon searching the officer’s car.

Senior officer said,Officials of Anti Corruption Bureau team headed by SP,Kuldeep Kumar Jain and his team trapped an Assistant Director Town planning,Devendrappa,red handed while accepting bribe to issue occupancy certificate on February 5 reportedly amassed disproportionate assets to his known source of income.

The ACB officials who searched his house found expensive SUVs,several bank accounts,fixed deposits,120 liquor bottles along with 430 files with different seals of chief engineer,executive engineer and joint commissioner BBMP.

The ACB officials informed the excise department to book Devendrappa under appropriate sections while probe is on to ascertain why Devendrappa having so many files at home and seals of his senior officials.

It may be recalled that Devendrappa was trapped while accepting Rs 27.4 lakh cash from owner of a brewery to issue occupancy certificate on February 5th.

A day after ACB recovered disproportionate assets from Joint director town planning after trapping him red handed,BBMP Commissioner,Manjunath Prasad suspended the corrupt officer he added.

Earlier this week,Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau,(ACB)sleuths carried out simultaneous raids across 30 places in the state belonging to seven government officials since wee hours of the Tuesday morning and recovered huge cash,gold and silver articles.

A simultaneous raids were carried out in Bengaluru,Kolar,Dharwad Ballari,Dakshina Kannada,Chitradurga and Kalaburgi on receiving complaints about amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.

massive raids were conducted at the residence of Jayaraj KV,Joint director at Mangaluru City Municipal Corporation and the ACB recovered Rs 11 lakh cash,Rs 10 lakh insurance bonds,Rs 97 lakh fixed deposits in various banks,191gm of gold ornaments and one gm silver articles.

In Dharwad,the ACB raids were conducted at the residence of Devraj Kamlesh Shiggavi,executive engineer at minor irrigation department executive engineer and recovered Rs 59.84 lakh cash and Rs 30 lakh deposits in various banks,500 gm gold ornaments,4 kg silver articles,besides several documents pertaining sites and flats were recovered.

In Bengaluru,the ACB sleuths raided the Vijayanagara residence,Jayanagar, Malleshwaram office and Chitradugra houses of D.Panduranga Garag,Joint director,Cooperative Societies,D.Panduranga Garag and recovered 31 kg silver articles and Rs 4.44 lakh cash he added
