High drama unfolded outside the BJP state office in Malleswaram on Sunday as hundreds of Youth Congress workers staged a massive protest demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the suicides of students.
The protesters raised slogans against the BJP and Amit Shah and attempted to enter the BJP office.
Police, who had deployed barricades outside the office to prevent the protesters from barging in, stopped them.
As the protesters pushed against the barricades,tension briefly prevailed at the spot.
The demonstrators also blocked the road,disrupting traffic in the area.
Police subsequently dispersed the protesters and detained several Youth Congress workers to clear the road and restore normal traffic movement.
