Army,Air Force,film industry to participate;new attractions for International Dasara.
*Five cities to develop to reduce pressure on Bengaluru.
Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar said that the government is thinking about bringing new ideas,discipline,and international appeal to the world-famous Mysuru Dasara.
Shivakumar responded to media at the Oval Ground in Mysuru on Saturday.
“The Greater Mysuru project has been under discussion for many years, and a separate meeting will be held soon on this.
We will take steps to give new shape to the thoughts, guidance, and plans that former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave for Mysuru’s development and implement them.We will also fulfill the promises made for Mysuru’s development,”he said.
Five cities to develop to reduce pressure on Bengaluru:
“To reduce the population pressure and traffic congestion on Bengaluru city,the government plans to develop cities including Kalaburagi,Belagavi, Hubballi–Dharwad,and others along with Bengaluru in a comprehensive way.
We need to encourage employment,health,education, and basic infrastructure so that people do not migrate to Bengaluru for jobs,”he said.
“Ring roads have already been approved for the outer areas of all cities and towns in the state.The aim is to prevent vehicles from outside entering the city and causing traffic congestion,”he explained.
“Although travel time between Mysuru and Bengaluru has reduced,a lot of time is still spent while entering the city from Kengeri.This issue has already been discussed, and many legislators have raised this concern,”he informed.
New look for Dasara; ‘break’ for repeat artists:
“The government is moving forward to bring newness, discipline, and international-level attractions to the Dasara celebration.
Instead of repeating the same artists and programs every year, the idea is to give opportunities to new artists and new concepts.
Rather than repeating multiple groups of the same art form in the parade, the plan is to create disciplined teams with a suitable number of artists for each art form,” he said.
“Requests have already been made for the Army, Air Force, and other defense forces in the state to participate in the Dasara parade.The aim is to bring discipline and diversity to the parade,” he explained.
“The police parade and electric decorations are being given special attention.Organizations like CHESCOM have spent over Rs.10 crore on improving the electrical system,” he said.
Separate tableau for film industry:
“Kannada film industry artists, actors, and actresses should participate in the Dasara program.The large fan base of the film industry that has grown in Karnataka should also be part of the Dasara celebrations. It has been suggested to have a separate tableau for the film industry,” he said.
“Different folk and cultural art forms of Karnataka should get appropriate representation. Instead of repeating many groups of the same art form in the parade, discipline should be brought to the program by including one capable team for each art form,” he said.
‘International Dasara’ deserves fitting attractions:
“Dasara should not just be a program for state people but should give visitors from across the country and world a new experience.Thoughts are being given to creating new attractions that match the name ‘International Dasara,'” he said.
“During Dasara, the tourism industry, hotel business, and other local trades gain significantly. Therefore, the hotel industry and other sectors should join hands with the government,” he appealed.
Hanur case sent to CID; action against accused:
“The Hanur case report has come, and the case has been handed over to the CID for investigation.CID officers will conduct a thorough investigation,” he said.
“In the Nagendra case, there has been an attempt to make an innocent person a scapegoat. He has resigned voluntarily for the party, and his resignation is being sent to the Governor,” he informed.
Criticism will fade, work will remain:
Responding to opposition parties’ criticism, including their foot march, he said, “For them, politics is main. But for us, people’s lives, irrigation, drought, and the state’s welfare are main.”
“The government is ready to discuss major state issues like the Cauvery water problem, drought situation, and Tungabhadra water matters. But the opposition parties are not showing interest in discussing these issues,” he said.
Responding to criticism from opposition leaders including former Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy, he said,”Let them speak and criticize as they wish. There is no cure for jealousy. I believe that our work will remain, criticism will fade away.”
On questions about Dasara inauguration, he said,That will be discussed,” and on opposition to Kambala (a traditional buffalo race), he said, “Kambala is also part of the state.Let those who oppose do so. I don’t have the prestige of doing something just because some people oppose it.”
