Meritorious students are not just individual achievers, they are a source of pride for their families, their communities and Bengaluru.

Recognising their hard work and encouraging young people to aim higher is the objective behind the ‘Nammura Hemme’ (Pride of Our Town) felicitation programme being organised by the Greater Bengaluru Development Authority (GBA) and the Bengaluru Zilla Panchayat.

The programme will felicitate students residing in Bengaluru who have achieved outstanding marks in the SSLC,PUC and Central Board examinations.

Students who have secured 621 marks or above in SSLC, 596 marks or above in PUC,and 496 marks or above in Classes 10 and 12 under the central syllabus are eligible to apply.

Students can submit their applications until August 25, and the felicitation ceremony will be held on August 29.

“Academic achievement is the result of hard work, discipline and perseverance. When we honour our young achievers, we are not merely celebrating their marks,we are recognising their effort and telling them that their achievement matters.

At the same time,we want their success to inspire many more young people in our society to dream big and work towards their goals,”said Bengaluru Development Minister,Krishna Byre Gowda.

The programme will also recognise the important role played by families in supporting students through their academic journey.

Family members of the achievers will therefore be invited to participate in the celebration.

“Nammura Hemme is about celebrating talent, celebrating hard work and celebrating the families who stand behind every young achiever. We want this to be a moment of pride for every student and an inspiration for many more,”the Minister said.
