Film Director OM Prakash Rao Accused of Rs.3.85 Crore Fraud

Film director OM Prakash Rao has been accused of allegedly cheating a businessman of Rs.3.85 crore after promising to produce a film.

Bhaskar Shetty has lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,alleging that Rao collected Rs.3.85 crore from him in the name of producing a film titled “Phoenix.”

According to the complaint,the financial transaction took place on September 23 last year.Rao allegedly assured Shetty that the entire amount would be returned within six months.

However,even after three years,the money has allegedly not been repaid, the complainant claimed.

Shetty alleged that whenever he demanded his money back, the director allegedly gave various reasons and delayed repayment.He further claimed that Rao had recently been avoiding his calls and attempts to contact him.

The complainant also alleged that when he went to Rao’s residence seeking repayment, he was allegedly threatened.He further accused the director of creating a scene and attempting to intimidate him.

Complaint to Police Commissioner :

Following the alleged incidents,Bhaskar Shetty submitted a formal complaint through Byadarahalli Police Station to the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,requesting appropriate legal action against OM Prakash Rao.

Police are expected to verify the allegations,examine the financial transactions and record the statements of the parties involved before proceeding further.
