Former State Minister and my dear friend B.C.Nagesh has passed away.It is a deeply painful loss. His last rites will be performed with full state honours, said Deputy Chief Minister Dr.G.Parameshwara.
Speaking to the media after visiting Tiptur today and paying his last respects to the mortal remains of B.C. Nagesh, Dr.Parameshwara said:
Nagesh was a very warm and friendly person. He treated everyone with immense trust and affection. He followed the path laid down by his father.
Despite being well-off,he never flaunted his wealth or status.By helping people and through his public life,he has left behind a distinct mark.
During his tenure as a minister,he would call me on several occasions seeking advice and discuss various matters with me.Although I belonged to a different political party, our friendship was very deep, he recalled.
He also remembered an incident from 1994,when he had lost an election.Nagesh had personally visited his home and urged him to join the BJP.
“He told me,‘You should join the BJP.We will take good care of you.’He also told me,‘Ananth Kumar has sent me and asked me to somehow convince Parameshwara.
Advani is coming to Tumakuru, and he has suggested that we announce the ticket for Parameshwara.’”
However,I did not agree.I told him that our party ideologies were different and could not be reconciled, and that we should remain good friends. And that is exactly how we remained,he recalled.
Whenever Nagesh was travelling to Bengaluru,he would stop his car in front of our house and,if I was at home, would come in to meet me.That was the depth of the friendship we shared.
I am deeply saddened by his loss.I pray for the peace of his soul and pray that God gives his family the strength to bear this immense grief, Dr.Parameshwara said.
