Jaguar car crashes into petrol pump,catches fire near Attibele

A Jaguar car allegedly driven at high speed by a drunk man rammed into a petrol pump at Attibele on the outskirts of Bengaluru, triggering a fire and causing panic among customers and staff.
The incident occurred at an HP petrol station near the Attibele border.

Senior officers rushed to spot and after inspecting the area said the driver,identified as Sanjay,was travelling with a young woman when he allegedly lost control of the car and hit petrol pump employee Guddu Kumar.

The impact sent the Jaguar crashing into the petrol dispensing unit.Sparks reportedly ignited the vehicle and the pump,and flames spread within seconds.
Sanjay and the woman managed to get out of the car before it was engulfed in flames.Guddu Kumar sustained serious injuries to his leg in the collision and was shifted to a private hospital,where he is undergoing treatment.
Three fire tenders from Electronic City, Anekal and Hosur in Tamil Nadu rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control, averting what could have been a major disaster at the fuel station.
Attibele police have taken Sanjay into custody and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
