A Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus travelling from Kerala to Bengaluru met with a fatal accident on the Mysuru–Bengaluru Expressway near Bidadi in Bengaluru South district early Saturday,leaving the driver and conductor dead and around 20 passengers injured.
The accident occurred near Avaragere Gate when the driver allegedly lost control of the bus.
The vehicle rammed into a large roadside signboard beside the expressway before overturning on the road.
The driver and conductor succumbed to their injuries in the accident.Around 20 passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The mishap disrupted traffic movement on the busy expressway for several hours as police and emergency personnel cleared the overturned bus and debris from the road.
Bidadi police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
