Love marriage,abduction,high-speed crash:Newlywed rescued in dramatic police operation; three arrested by Vijayanagar Police

In a dramatic sequence straight out of a film,a 21-year-old newly married woman was allegedly abducted by a gang sent by her family,only for the getaway vehicle to crash into several vehicles,leaving six people injured before police rescued her.

Senior officers with other police team rushed to spot and said Pooja,daughter of Gunaramu and a native of Melwas village in Rajasthan,had married Om Prakash, 23,also from Melwas,in a love marriage around eight to nine months ago against the wishes of their families.

The couple subsequently came to Bengaluru and settled in Agrahara Dasarahalli.
Senior officer further said,Pooja’s family,unable to accept the marriage,allegedly sent four men to Bengaluru to bring her back.
The men allegedly entered the couple’s residence and abducted Pooja before fleeing in a Hyundai Verna vehicle bearing number (RJ 22 CC 9691).
The drama took a dangerous turn around 8 pm when the driver allegedly drove the vehicle recklessly and collided with several vehicles.Six people were injured in the crashes and are undergoing treatment.
Those injured have been identified as Prithviraj,12; Yashika,9;Amul,35;Mani,64;Jayalakshmi,57;and Santosh, 33.Jayalakshmi suffered a head injury and is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.
Police have arrested three of the alleged abductors — Rakesh,31;Karan,25; and Ayan,18 all from Rajasthan.
The alleged driver,Saddam,is absconding.
The vehicle allegedly used in the abduction has been seized,and the accused persons are in police custody.
We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction and the involvement of others in the incident he added.
