Kolar:A 36-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by a woman’s husband over an alleged extramarital affair,with the accused reportedly dumping the body in a sump near Chikka Tirupati in Malur taluk of Kolar district.
The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh (36),a resident of Sonnenahalli,while the woman’s husband Suresh and his friend Santosh have been arrested by Malur police in connection with the murder.
According to police,Venkatesh was allegedly having an illicit relationship with Suresh’s wife.
Despite Suresh reportedly warning Venkatesh several times to stay away from his wife,the relationship allegedly continued.
Angered by this,Suresh and his friend Santosh allegedly invited Venkatesh for a party.After consuming alcohol, the duo allegedly strangled him to death.
The accused then allegedly placed Venkatesh’s body inside a sump and closed it,apparently in an attempt to conceal the crime.
After Venkatesh went missing, a case was registered, following which Malur police visited the suspected crime scene and launched an investigation.
The police subsequently arrested Suresh and Santosh and are conducting further inquiries into the murder.
