he Upparpet police are on the lookout for three persons who assaulted a journalist of Samvada channel when he went to cover the protest against book revision at freedom park on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as,Deepu Gowda,Byrappa Harish Kumar and others.
Senior officer told reporters,The victim Theja T and her colleague Deeksha Singh were assaulted when a group of people identified as Deepu Gowda,Harish Kumar Byrappa and others confronted him,abused and assaulted and accused him of Supporting RSS and opposing them.
When Theja tried to reason,they chased and assaulted him.
He was saved by few police personnel who came to his rescue.If the police did not save me on time,i would have been killed,Theja,said.
Meanwhile the accused were arrested in the year 2019 by the Commercial street police of East Division for defacing ransacking and vandalising Hindi posters and banners put at the entrance of the Ganesh Bagh Jain community prayer hall in Bengaluru.
The upparpet police have registered an FIR against the accused Charging them under Assault,criminal intimidation and also under various sections of the atrocities act and massive hunt is on to track them down.
