A massive fire broke out at a school building in Bengaluru on Saturday morning, triggering a swift response from the Fire and Emergency Services Department.
Fortunately,no casualties or injuries were reported as the school was closed for summer holidays.
According to officials,passers-by noticed thick smoke and flames emanating from the premises of Chitrakoota School in Nagadevanahalli and alerted authorities.The fire department received the emergency call at around 9.55 a.m.
Three fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot. Firefighters acted quickly and managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread to other parts of the building.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire originated on the top floor,where the school’s auditorium is located.Officials suspect that a short circuit may have triggered the blaze.
“Due to the immediate response,firefighters successfully doused the fire and prevented it from spreading further,” fire department sources said.
While no one was injured in the incident,several items and materials stored inside the auditorium were damaged in the fire.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident and assess the extent of the losses.
