A special team constituted by the Karnataka Lokayukta on Monday visited Bowring Hospital following the compound wall collapse in Shivajinagar that left seven people dead, including a minor girl,during heavy rain.
The Lokayukta has ordered a detailed probe into the April 29 incident and taken suo motu cognisance. 
A case has been registered against the Chief Secretary and other concerned officials for alleged negligence.
A senior police officer of the rank of SP has been appointed as the Investigating Officer.
The probe team includes a district judge,the Chief Engineer of the Lokayukta’s technical wing,and other officials.
The team inspected the site on Monday and collected crucial evidence in the presence of civic authorities.
Notices have been issued seeking documents and explanations from the departments concerned.
Civic officials have been directed to submit a detailed report.The probe team has been asked to file its findings by May 16,while the next hearing is scheduled for May 2.
