The East Division Police in the city have recovered 385 lost and stolen mobile phones worth approximately Rs.1.15 crore as part of a special drive conducted tracking them through Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.
According to police,the recovery was made during March 2026 across 14 police station limits in the East Division,where teams have been actively tracing missing mobile devices with the help of the CEIR system.
The Banaswadi Police Station topped the list with 87 recoveries,followed by JB Nagar (81),Govindapura (35), K.G.Halli (30),Halasuru (30),and DJ Halli (29).Other recoveries include Hennur (19),Commercial Street (16), Pulakeshinagar (15),Indiranagar (12),R.M. Nagar (10), Baiyappanahalli (8),Shivajinagar (8),and Bharathinagar (5).
The Police have appealed to the public to report lost or stolen mobile phones either through the CEIR portal or by filing a complaint at the nearest police station to improve chances of recovery.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Vikram Amate,Deputy Commissioner of Police,East Division,with coordinated efforts from Assistant Commissioners of Police,the Cyber Crime Police Station, and other personnel in the Division.
