Lokayukta police trapped and arrested two probationary IMV inspectors & private lorry driver red handed while accepting bribe for official favour

The Lokayukta police have arrested two probationary IMV Inspectors and a private lorry driver in connection with a bribery case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The complainant,Prashant Dattatray Jadhav (34),a resident of Kharghar in Maharashtra,approached authorities alleging that officials demanded a bribe to allow his vehicle to pass through the NICE Road toll plaza.

The accused have been identified as Kiran S.P.(37) and Dinesh Kumar D.K.(48), both probationary IMV Inspectors posted at Nelamangala RTO,along with a private individual,Ramesh (40),a lorry driver from Nelamangala taluk.

Investigators said the accused had allegedly demanded Rs.30,000 to clear the vehicle.

Prior to the trap,they had reportedly received Rs.2,000 via Google Pay and Rs.1,000 in cash.

On the day of the operation,the third accused was caught red-handed while accepting an additional Rs.300 as part of the bribe amount.

Following the operation,all three accused were secured, and further investigation is underway the officials said the investigation is in progress.
