Amid reports of increased fuel purchases in parts of the state, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) on Wednesday assured that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel across Karnataka, including Bengaluru.

In an official statement, the company said that adequate stocks of fuel are available at all petroleum terminals and supply points, and deliveries to retail outlets are continuing without disruption.

The clarification comes after an unusual surge in fuel demand at certain locations, triggered by panic buying, which temporarily affected supplies at a few petrol pumps.

IndianOil stated that such situations were purely demand-driven and not due to any supply constraints.

“Supplies to affected outlets are being prioritised, and inventory levels are being closely monitored to ensure normal availability,”the company said.

IndianOil also appealed to the public to refrain from panic buying or hoarding fuel, stressing that the supply chain remains stable and fully functional.

It further warned against unsafe storage practices, such as keeping petrol in plastic cans or bottles, citing serious safety risks.

Meanwhile,Siddharth Aggarwal,State Level Coordinator for the oil industry in Karnataka, confirmed that all PSU petroleum terminals—including IOC,BPCL and HPCL—are well-stocked,with refinery supplies continuing as usual.

IndianOil reiterated its commitment to maintaining continuous and uninterrupted fuel supply across Karnataka and ensuring customer safety.
