A gang of six women allegedly gained entry into an apartment complex in Yeshwanthpur and decamped with cash and gold ornaments,creating panic among residents.
The incident occurred at the Golden Apartment complex in the Yeshwanthpur area of Bengaluru.
Senior officer told reporters that the women arrived at the apartment posing as vendors selling artificial jewellery in the North Karnataka style.
They reportedly approached residents under the pretext of marketing imitation ornaments.
When the group attempted to enter the premises,the security guard initially denied them access.
However,while four of the women engaged the guard in conversation and diverted his attention,two others allegedly slipped inside the building unnoticed.
The duo reportedly entered a house located near the security room on the ground floor and made away with approximately Rs.40,000 in cash and gold ornaments.
The accused fled the scene soon after the theft.The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the apartment complex.
Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused based on CCTV footage.Officials have urged residents and security personnel to remain vigilant,especially in view of a recent rise in thefts where suspects gain entry to apartments under false pretexts.Do you like this personality?.
