The Subramanyapura police have arrested three persons,including a woman,and seized drugs worth Rs.4 lakh in two separate drug-related cases in the city.
In the first case,the police seized 4 kg of ganja,37 grams of MDMA,and 35 grams of hashish oil,along with a two-wheeler scooter allegedly used for transporting the drugs.
Acting on a tip-off,the police conducted an operation near Poornaprajna Nagar,close to the 36th and 42nd Main Roads under the Subramanyapura police station limits, and caught the accused while they were allegedly selling drugs from the scooter.
During interrogation,the accused reportedly confessed that they procured narcotic substances at a lower price from their contacts outside the state and sold them at higher rates to the general public and college students for financial gain.
Further investigation revealed the involvement of three more persons, who are currently absconding.Efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.
In another case,the Jalahalli police arrested a drug peddler and seized 31 grams of MDMA worth approximately Rs.3 lakh.
The accused was caught near the HMT Watch Factory Road railway bridge while allegedly selling the banned substance.Police said the accused purchased MDMA at a lower price and sold it at a premium to addicts to make quick money.Further investigation is in progress in both cases.
