A juvenile in conflict with law was detained on Sunday night for allegedly recording videos inside the women’s washroom at Sandhya Cinema Theatre,located within the Madiwala police station limits.
Senior officer told reporters that the incident occurred around 9.30 pm on January 4.
Madiwala police and a Hoysala patrol team rushed to the theatre after receiving an alert through the“Namma 112” emergency service about a disturbance at the premises.
Police said the juvenile was allegedly caught by few women red handed while recording videos inside the women’s washroom and was surrounded by the crowd.
The police intervened,rescued the minor from the situation,and brought him to the police station.Another suspect was also taken in for inquiry.
Based on a complaint filed by the affected women,the juvenile and his mobile phone were taken into custody for further investigation.
The Police have also begun questioning the management committee of Sandhya Cinema Theatre in connection with the incident.
Efforts are underway to trace other suspects who are currently absconding.Further investigation is in progress, police said.
