In a dramatic car chase,by sleuths of Whitefield division police nabbed a notorious history sheeters who were wanted in alleged sexual assault case and while nabbing them a stabbing and a shootout unfolded in the wee hours of Monday as the Bellandur police set off in pursuit of two alleged sexual offenders
Around 4 a.m.on Monday, they were spotted travelling in an car on Sarjapura Road.The police inspector Victor simon and Somashekhar set off in chase and caught up with them near the BMTC quarters at Kodathi in Bellandur. Despite warnings, the accused got down from the car and stabbed a constable, Mahantesh.At the end of it, a police constable was stabbed while the two accused Shankar and Selva Kumar were shot in the legs.
Shankar and Selva Kumar are from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. They are accused of sexually assaulting a teacher on March 18.As they tried to escape, police fired two rounds at the duo.The operation was led by Inspector Victor Simon from Bellandur police station and Sub-Inspector Somashekar from Whitefield police station.
Abdul Ahad,DCP Whitefield,told media persons that as on the 18th of this month, An incident was reported from Kasavanahalli in Bellandur Police station limits at around 10 pm,the police control room received a call about how a woman was kidnapped in an Indica car.We immediately registered a case and messaged all police stations in both rural and urban districts.We began the search operation and the next morning we received details about the woman.The suspects are from Dharmapuri.Some of their relatives reside there.They are all basically wholesale vegetable dealers.They purchase vegetables and transport them from here to Tamilnadu and vice versa.The woman was on her way to a medical shop in Kasavanahalli.Two men allegedly called out to her.When she refused,they forcibly pushed her into the car.The men were in an inebriated state.The 28 year old woman put up a fight and jumped out of the car.She immediately rushed to a relatives house in the vicinity.She later registered a case with the police.The suspects are from a different state,so we informed the kerala and Tamilnadu police to look for them.The suspects roamed Tamilnadu and kerala and returned to Karnataka as the police was on the lookout for them.Based on the information we received,our officers Somashekhar and Victor Simon from the Bellandur police station visited the spot.when they tried to stop them at the Barricaded spot,they fled.Police chased them and even hit their car.When Mahantesh our police officer jumped out of the jeep to nab them,they attacked him with a knife our police officers opened fire in self defense and were able to nab the culprits they are undergoing treatment and once they recover we will conduct a thorough investigation,Kudos to all four teams that worked on the Bellandur abduction case relentlessly to identify,track and arrest the culprits.A display of swift and strong policing by Inspector Victor Simon ,PSI Somshekar and team,and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,T Suneel Kumar,has appreciated,Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,DCP Whitefield zone,Abdul Ahad,and his team as,ACP Marathahalli,S Nagaraj,PI,Victor Simon,PSI,Somashekhar and crime staff as Mahantesh and whole team who has successfully nabbed the notorious history sheeters he added .
