Labourer hammered to death over drunken brawl at construction site in Bengaluru accused arrested by Konanakunte police

A 31-year-old labourer was hammered to death over a drunken brawl at a construction site in JP Nagar 8th stage on Monday night .

The incident occurred on Sunday night at an under-construction building in the 8th Phase of JP Nagar.

The deceased has been identified as Bhagirath Bapri,a native of West Bengal.

Senior officer told reporters that Bapri and another labourer,Biplab Mandal (27),who were both working and residing at the construction site,consumed alcohol together late at night.

An argument broke out between the two over a trivial issue, which soon escalated into a violent altercation.

Both the deceased and accused are from West Bengal and the accused had joined work a month ago.

In a fit of rage,the accused allegedly attacked Bapri,with a hammer,resulting in fatal injuries.

The incident came to light the next morning when other workers arrived at the site for work and found Bapri lying dead.

Based on the information received,Konanakunte police rushed to the spot,conducted an inspection,and registered a case.

The police later track down Biplab and taken into custody for further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the murder .
