Fruit Vendor turned habitual HBT offender arrested by Mahadevapura police and recovered stolen property worth Rs.29.4 Lakhs

The Mahadevapura police have arrested a 33-year-old habitual offender and recovered 245 grams of gold valuables worth ₹29.4 lakh.

The accused,identified as Mohammed Tanzim,a fruit vendor,had allegedly broken into the house of Subin Mathew at DRDO Township and stolen the valuables.

Senior officer said that Mathew had stepped out after locking his house when the accused,who had been keeping watch on the locality,struck and made away with the gold.

Following a complaint,the police analysed CCTV footage and tracked down Tanzim at CV Raman Nagar.Based on his information,the police recovered a portion of the gold from his residence and traced the remaining valuables to a pawn shop where he had pledged them.

Police said the accused had used the money to fund his vices.

Investigations revealed that Tanzim is a habitual offender and has been involved in similar offences in Mysuru and Kerala,officer added.
