Bengaluru ATM van heist: Two more suspects nabbed, 26 Lakhs recovered

The Bengaluru’s Siddapura police on Monday arrested two more people in connection with the Rs.7.11 crore cash van robbery,taking the total number of arrests in the case to eight .

The accused identified as Dinesh and Jinesh,both allegedly part of the conspiracy to rob a CMS Info Systems cash van near Jayanagar last week.

CMS Info Systems is the company responsible for transporting cash through these vans.

According to the police,Dinesh was arrested in Bengaluru,while Jinesh was apprehended in Chennai, both on Sunday.So far,authorities have recovered Rs. 6.55 crore of the stolen amount.

A total of ₹56 lakh is yet to be recovered,Investigation is on to recover the balance,”said Lokesh B Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South division ).

Earlier,on Saturday,Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh announced the arrest of six suspects, followed by a seventh arrest on Sunday.

Among those arrested were former employees of CMS Info Systems and Annappa Naik,a police constable attached to the Govindapura police station,who is currently under suspension pending inquiry.

Probe revealed that the accused had spent only around ₹1 lakh from the loot,primarily on logistics and the purchase of a mobile phone worth Rs.40,000.
