Habitual offender arrested for robbing cab drivers car and valuables in Hennur

The Hennur police have arrested a 38-year-old habitual offender for robbing a cab driver of his valuables and his taxi in Hegde Nagar on Thursday.

In a swift action,the police swung into action and track down the accused identified as Mansoor Dhoon resident of queens road on Saturday.

According to the police the accused had hired a cab from Mysore sub urban bus stand and offered to pay Rs. 3,000 to the driver Pradeep VK.

After reaching Shivajinagar,the accused told him to take the cab to Hedge Nagar as he had to get the money from his sister to pay him.

After reaching the isolated place in telecom layout in Hegdenagar it was around 11 pm,the accused assaulted Pradeep with a knife,snatched his mobile phone,cash Rs. 3,000 and sped away in a car.

The Victim with the help of passers-by reported the incident and admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Based on the complaint,the police track down the accused and further investigations are on.

The accused is habitual offender and involved in peddling drugs and the police suspected that the accused had planned to use the vehicle for drug peddling.
