The Kaggalipura police on Saturday swoop down on a homestay for organising rave party and detaining more than 130 revllers found under the influence of alcohol and also few of them consumed narcotics .
The operation was carried out around 3 a.m.at (Ayaan Retreat)Homestay,located within the Kaggalipura Police Station limits,following reports of an illegal party involving drug use.
Officials said that all the detained participants were residents of Bengaluru.They were taken to the Ramanagara District Hospital for medical tests to determine whether any narcotics had been consumed.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ramachandraya visited the hospital to Supervise the investigation.
Probe revealed that the event had been organised through a WhatsApp group named “Gen Z.”
The participants,aged between 19 and 23 years,were reportedly college students and working professional from Bengaluru.Three of the participants were minors , the police said .
The group used to coordinate and update each other through WhatsApp every time such parties were planned.
Authorities have taken the organisers into custody for questioning,and further investigation is underway.
Superintendent of Police,Srinivas Gowda,said the homestay in question is being operated without obtaining any permission and were conducting parties that caused disturbance to nearby residents.
Acting on a tip-off,a team led by the Kaggalipura Police Inspector,Venkatesh raided the premises.
Over 100 people were found partying at the spot, including around 70 women—among them 35 young women and three minors.
Police suspect that some of them were drug users.The police obtained cigarette butts and few grams of marijuana and huge number of liquor bottles were seized.The seized material has been sent to FSL for further investigation.
Four persons identified as the organisers of the event have been booked.All the participants were subjected to medical examination.Case has been booked under Excise Act,KP Act and relevant sections of the BNS, a senior officer,said .
