Suo Motu case registered against poachers gang by Anekal police after villagers heard gun shots

The Anekal police have registered a Suo motu case and looking for a gang of poachers after the villagers heard gun shots and alerted the police in the early hours of Sunday.

Villagers of Haldenahalli village on the outskirts of Anekal woke up in the wee hours after gunshots were heard around 3 am on Sunday.

The police based on the information rushed to the spot and verified the CCTV footage,which recorded a gang of four men wearing headlamps and carrying single-barrel guns.

The jurisdictional Anekal police said the movement of four armed men was captured on nearby CCTV cameras.

It is suspected that the gang is from local area and had gone hunt for rabbits or deer or wild bores.

A suo motu case has been registered under Section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming animal) of the BNS and the Arms Act.

Police are analyzing the CCTV footage,and a search operation has been launched to track down the accused
