The High grounds police have registered a case of cheating by impersonation against a person for cheating a 24-year-old software engineer on the pretext of offering escort service and made away with Rs.1.49 lakh.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim,the police are now on the lookout for the person identifying as Ishani Reddy through money trail on Saturday .
According to the complaint,the techie,met Ishani on social media who offered escort service and massage and asked him to pay Rs.299 towards the registration.
As soon as the money transferred the accused started demanding money and forced him to pay total of Rs.1.49 lakh online towards service charges .
The techie got suspicion when Ishani demanded for more money and demanded the money back following which the accused disconnected the call .
The police suspect that the accused could be used fake identity to cheat people who are gullible and desperately looking for such services .
The police advised people to be careful while dealing with random persons online .
