Private firm employee arrested for assaulting his friend with machete in drunken brawl over trivial row

The Chamarajpet police on Monday arrested a 21-year-old private firm employee for allegedly assaulting his friend with machete in a drunken brawl for trivial row on Friday night .

The accused has been identified as Abhishek,21,working as accountant at a private firm,while his associate is on the run efforts are on to track him down,the police,said.

Senior officer told reporters that as on July 11,the victim, Tejas,24,an autorickshaw driver,went to a bar near Rudrappa Garden with his friend Santosh .

While they were having drinks couple of their friends including the accused joined them .

Few minutes later,argument broke out between them over trivial issues, which escalated and prompted Abhishek to attack Tejas with a machete.

Tejas sustained injuries and rashes on his left hand,left leg and parts of his neck and rushed to a private hospital .

“The victim is currently under treatment and is out of danger,” a senior officer said.Based on the complaint, the police track down Abhishek on the charges of Section 109 (attempt to murder) of BNS and remanded him to judicial custody.
