Officials of the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday carried search on 18 premises linked to Engineering Seat blocking Scam in Private engineering colleges in Bangalore.
According to the official release,the main colleges in the case including BMS College of Engineering,Akash Institute of Engineering and Technology,New Horizon College of Engineering.
The premise includes the offices of accused colleges, Trustee of BMS and their main associates,Office and residence of few private education consultants and few seat blocking agents.
The Malleshwaram police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the colleges following a complaint filed by the PU board and filed a charge-sheet .
The police has also arrested as many as 12 people including the kingpin involved in the scam,The police also charge sheet middlemen who are blocking the seats for a price ranging from Rs.60 lakh and more to sell it to their clients.
Following a money transaction worth Crores of rupees , the ED has taken up the case and carried out the raids on the colleges which have allegedly collected crores of rupees to sell the blocked merit seats through agents .
