he Central Crime Branch officials on Tuesday arrested two foreigners overstaying in the city to do modelling for a city based ad agency.
The accused according to the police identified as Lucas Henrique and Samuel D aged around 24 years are from Argentina and Brazil .
The duo had come to city an year ago on business visa based on the invitation by Karthik,owner of a city based ad agency.
The accused according to the police overstayed even after expiry of the visa and continue to work and stayed in Anandnagar in Hebbal .
Based on a tip off,a team of CCB officials raided the house and arrested the accused for VISA violations and also under various sections of PP and foreigners act .
The police have also booked the owner of the house for not informing the jurisdictional police while renting his premises to foreigners and the Karthik on similar charges .
City police commissioner advised house owners to comply with the FRRO guidelines while renting out their premises to the foreign nationals and update their details in the prescribed “C form”within 24 hours uploading on FRRO portal .
Many people are not doing this and the city police have cracked a whip and since last year booked 42 cases against the violators out of which 26 are under trail .
In one such case reported in Bandepalya the court has convicted the owner of the house for rented out the premises to foreign national without following the due procedure and slapped a fine of ₹ 5,000.
