The Forensic analysis of the mobile and pen drive seized from former MP Prajwal Revanna from his prison cell during the CCB raid found over 147 video clips while the pen drive contained more than 100 videos, including OTT series and movies.
Prajwal Revanna has reportedly told investigators that he used the phone mainly for making calls.
He admitted to contacting his mother, but said he spoke to her through a phone used by one of her maids rather than calling her directly. He also reportedly told investigators that he had spoken to a female friend.
According to sources,Prajwal claimed that the phone was circulated among several prisoners on a rotational basis and that he therefore did not know who had downloaded the videos and other material found on the device.
Police are now scrutinising the phone’s call records and are likely to issue notices to persons whose numbers were contacted from the device.Investigators will question them to establish who used the phone and the nature of the calls.
Prajwal is said to have used the mobile phone while in jail to make both regular calls and video calls.
He reprotedly paid around one lakh to get the phone which was supplied to him through many people including a prison staff who are now being arrested and questioned.
Police are now collecting details of all calls made from the mobile phone. Those who received calls from the device may be served notices and questioned as part of the investigation.
The police are also examining the mobile-phone data and other digital evidence to establish who used the device at different times and the circumstances under which it was operated inside the jail.
During the questioning Prajwal reportedly confessed that he has used the phone only for calls and denied having knowledge about the contents.
