A Bengaluru police inspector died and three other personnel,including a PSI,were seriously injured when the bus they were travelling in met with an accident between Bhopal and Indore in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday/Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Ravi K.B.,
Inspector at the Southeast Division CEN Police Station.
He was a 2007-batch police officer and had earlier served as an inspector at,HSR layout ,Ashok Nagar,Indiranagar and Koramangala police stations in Bengaluru.
Ravi and a team of police personnel had travelled to Madhya Pradesh as part of an investigation into a cybercrime case involving an APK file.The team was reportedly tracking suspects in connection with the case.
According to preliminary information,nine police personnel had travelled to Madhya Pradesh.
Two accused were taken into custody,following which six personnel returned to Bengaluru with the accused.
Ravi and two other personnel remained in Madhya Pradesh to trace the remaining accused.
The three were reportedly travelling towards Indore from Bhopal when the bus met with the accident and plunged into a gorge.
The officer with Bengaluru Southeast Cybercrime Police Station was asleep on the upper berth when the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve on the flyover of Biaora bypass in Rajgarh district.
The impact of the crash shattered the windows, throwing several passengers off the bus. Ravi fell from the flyover, sustaining fatal injuries, an officer said.
Ravi died in the accident,while the PSI and two other personnel sustained serious injuries.
Mortal remains of Ravi KB was received at HAL Airport by Dr.MA.Saleem, DG-IGP,and offered a wreath,had his last darshan and consoled the family members.
On this occasion,Pronab Mohanty, DGP,CID,Seemant Kumar Singh,Commissioner of Police,Bangalore City, Cyber Command Center officials,various senior and senior officials of Bangalore City also paid their last tribute to inspector KB.
The body will be kept at the Ranga Mantapa of CAR (South) in Adugodi for the public to pay their last respect.
