More than 6.06 lakh pending traffic e-challan cases have been settled across Karnataka since the State Government introduced a 50% concession on traffic fines, resulting in the collection of over Rs.18.15 crore in revenue.
According to the Traffic Police,between June 21 and July 4th,2026,a total of 6,06,032 traffic violation cases were disposed of through various prescribed modes of payment.
During the period,the department collected Rs. 18,15,42,200. in fines.
The 50% concession was introduced following a Government Order dated June 4, 2026) issued by the Government of Karnataka.
The scheme came into effect on June 21, 2026, and applies to pending traffic e-challan cases registered by the police department.
The initiative was launched to encourage motorists to clear long-pending traffic violations while reducing the backlog of unpaid e-challans.
Traffic police officials said the response from the public has been encouraging,with lakhs of motorists availing themselves of the concession and settling their pending dues.
Officials have urged vehicle owners with pending e-challans to make use of the concession within the stipulated period to avoid paying the full penalty once the scheme ends.
