Trio booked by CCB in Rs.1.8-crore job scam,55 aspirants cheated

The Central Crime Branch officials on Tuesday registered an FIR against three men involved in a major job fraud cheating over 55 job aspirants on the pretext of providing employment and made away with Rs.1.8 crore .

Based on the complaint filed by one of the victim through a private complaint,identified as,N Surendranath Rao Mirajkar,the police charged V.K.Ramesh,D. Raghavendra,and B.S.Devikumar charging them under cheating and fraud .

The accused according to the complaint,allegedly collected large sums of money from candidates between 2019 and 2023, promising to secure government jobs.

The complainant stated that he was introduced to V.K. Ramesh through acquaintances, who claimed to have strong connections in government departments and assured employment for multiple candidates.Trusting these claims, an initial amount of Rs.51 lakh was allegedly paid for 21 job aspirants.

Subsequently the process was routed through Raghavendra, based in Shivamogga, who continued dealings with the complainant and other candidates.

Over the years,a total of Rs.1,83,40,000 was reportedly collected from 57 individuals,with around ₹48 lakh directly transferred to Dr.Raghavendra’s bank account.

Despite repeated follow-ups and visits to Shivamogga, Channagiri,and Davanagere, the promised jobs were never provided.

The complainant alleged that the accused kept delaying the process on various pretexts.

In November 2023,the accused reportedly agreed to return the money and paid back ₹29 lakh in instalments.

However,the remaining ₹22 lakh is yet to be returned. The complainant also alleged that several cheques issued by the accused bounced due to insufficient funds.

Further,the complainant claimed that multiple attempts to contact the accused were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered and communication was cut off.

The complainant has now urged authorities to initiate legal action against the accused and help recover the cheated amount.
