An Army personnel sustained injuries on Friday morning after a parachute jump went wrong during a routine annual exercise in Ballari district.
The incident occurred in the P.D.Halli area,where a contingent of soldiers was conducting scheduled parachute training drills.
According to preliminary reports,the parachute either failed to deploy properly or malfunctioned during descent,leading to the mishap.
Considering the seriousness of the injuries,an Army helicopter was immediately deployed.
It landed at the ITI College grounds in Ballari and evacuated the injured personnel, who was subsequently airlifted to Bengaluru for advanced medical treatment.
Ballari police have confirmed the incident.
