Karnataka Govt Extends Tenure of DGP Dr.M.A.Saleem Till August 2027

The Karnataka government has issued a notification continuing Dr.M.A.Saleem, IPS (1993 batch),as the Director General and Inspector General of Police (Head of the Police Force),Karnataka.

The extension is in compliance with the landmark judgment of the Supreme Court of India dated September 22, 2006,in the case of Prakash Singh vs Union of India,which mandates a minimum tenure for police chiefs to ensure stability in law enforcement administration.

According to the official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Services-4), Dr. Saleem will continue in the post until August 29, 2027,or until further orders,whichever is earlier.

The notification was issued by Sanjay B.S.Under Secretary to the Government,on behalf of the Governor of Karnataka.

Copies of the order have been forwarded to key authorities,including the Principal Accountant General, the Ministry of Home Affairs,and the Department of Personnel and Training,Government of India,among others,for necessary action and record.
