A 28-year-old gym trainer ended life in Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Monday,with his family accusing a married woman of blackmail and harassment that drove him to take the extreme step.
The deceased,identified as Dilip (28),was working as a gym trainer in the area.
According to preliminary information,he had come in contact with a married woman who used to visit the gym for fitness training.The acquaintance is said to have later developed into a close relationship.
The deceased Dilip had become acquainted with a 42-year-old married woman at the gym where he worked.
Despite being married,the woman was allegedly in a relationship with him,a claim now forming the basis of the family’s complaint.
Family members have alleged that the woman later began blackmailing Dilip,causing him severe mental distress.They claim he ended his life as he was unable to cope with the pressure.
Senior officer told reporters that Dilip had reportedly called the woman,shortly before his death and informed her about his decision.
The case surfaced after the woman allegedly sent a message to Dilip’s brother via Instagram,informing him that Dilip had died by suicide in his room.
Acting on the message,the brother rushed to the spot and broke open the door,discovering Dilip hanging inside the room.
He was immediately shifted to the Nelamangala Government Hospital,where doctors declared him dead.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Officials from the Nelamangala Town Police and the Scene of Crime (SOCO) team visited the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection.
A case has been registered at Nelamangala Town Police Station,and further investigation is underway.
