Lorry driver killed in early morning crash near Mysore Road signal

A 60-year-old truck driver lost his life after his vehicle rammed into a stationary lorry at a traffic signal on Mysuru Road in Bengaluru.

The incident occurred around 4:00 AM near the Satellite Bus Stand signal under the jurisdiction of Byatarayanapura Traffic Police station limits.

According to preliminary reports,the deceased,identified as Vijay Kumar (60), was driving a vegetable-laden truck .

Senior officer told reporters that the truck was descending the Mysuru Road flyover when the driver reportedly lost control and crashed into a 10-wheel lorry that was stopped at the signal.

The impact of the collision was severe,leading to the instantaneous death of the driver.

The force of the crash left the victim’s body severely mutilated.

Sources revealed that the vehicle was transporting vegetables from Malur in Kolar district to RR Nagar for supply to an online grocery delivery platform.

Following the accident, the body was shifted to Victoria Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

The Byatarayanapura Traffic Police rushed to the spot, cleared the damaged vehicles,and restored traffic movement in the area.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
