In a shocking incident of alleged road rage and targeted violence,a group of men from Tamilnadu reportedly chased and attacked a TT vehicle carrying Kannada passengers near Attibele toll in Anekal taluk on Sunday night.
According to the complaint filed by the driver, Ramakrishna,at the Attibele police station,the assailants intercepted the vehicle on the national highway,hurled abuses in Tamil, and carried out a violent assault using sticks and weapons.
What Happened :
Ramakrishna,who was ferrying passengers from Whitefield to Krishnagiri in Tamilnadu,stated that an argument broke out between the passengers and some locals in Tamilnadu.
Following the altercation,the passengers left the area and began their return journey towards Bengaluru.
However,the accused allegedly pursued the TT vehicle in another vehicle,armed with sticks and other weapons. Upon reaching the Attibele toll,they blocked the TT vehicle and launched an attack.
Violent Assault Despite Pleas:
Despite repeated pleas from passengers,including women and children,the attackers allegedly smashed the vehicle’s windows and assaulted the driver brutally.
The victims claimed the attackers used abusive language and continued the assault without provocation.
The entire incident was reportedly captured on the dash camera installed in the TT vehicle,providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
Police Action:
Based on the complaint,Attibele police have taken five accused into custody and are investigating the case.
The incident has triggered outrage among pro-Kannada organisations, who have demanded strict action against the perpetrators.Further investigation is underway.
