The Government of Karnataka on Monday unveiled the CySecK Annual Compendium 2025–26,a comprehensive report mapping the state’s cybersecurity landscape, emerging threats, and strategic roadmap to strengthen digital resilience.

Developed by the Centre of Excellence for Cybersecurity –Karnataka (CySecK),the compendium brings together insights from government, industry, academia, startups, and the cybersecurity community.

The report highlights Karnataka’s position as a leading digital and innovation hub while cautioning about the growing exposure to cyber risks due to rapid digital adoption across sectors.

With increasing reliance on cloud platforms, digital payments, connected systems, and data-driven services, the report notes an expanding cyber threat surface affecting enterprises, critical infrastructure, public institutions, and citizens.

CySecK,a flagship initiative of the Department of Electronics,IT,BT and S&T,plays a key role in strengthening the state’s cybersecurity ecosystem through skill development, research, innovation, and industry collaboration.

Speaking at the event, Dr.Manjula N,Secretary (Electronics,IT, BT&S&T),said cybersecurity has become a critical pillar of Karnataka’s growth and governance framework.

She added that the compendium reflects the government’s commitment to building a resilient digital future through collaboration, innovation, and capacity building.

The report aligns with the Karnataka Cybersecurity Policy 2024, which aims to position the state as a national hub for cybersecurity through investments in awareness, skill development, research, and ecosystem partnerships.

The compendium outlines key focus areas including risk assessment of the cybersecurity landscape, talent development through training programmes and bootcamps, strengthening the startup ecosystem through initiatives like H.A.C.K.,and advancements in research areas such as hardware security and cryptographic resilience.

It also emphasises government capacity building, cyber awareness initiatives, and enhancing law enforcement preparedness to tackle cyber threats.

The unveiling follows the CySecK Annual Cybersecurity Conference 2026 held in Bengaluru, which saw participation from stakeholders across sectors.

The conference featured discussions on emerging cyber threats, startup showcases, and specialised training programmes for law enforcement officials.

Officials said the initiative will serve as a strategic platform to enhance collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation, further strengthening Karnataka’s preparedness in addressing evolving cybersecurity challenges.
