A two-and-a-half-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into a water sump at a house in Byadarahalli in north Bengaluru.
The deceased has been identified as Chirag,the son of Annyayya and Rithu,residents of Byadarahalli.
According to police,the couple was preparing to attend a relative’s wedding.During this time, the child’s father had opened the sump lid to draw water for washing a car and briefly went inside the house.
While playing nearby,the toddler accidentally fell into the open sump and drowned.The incident came to light when family members stepped outside and noticed the child missing.
A case has been registered at the Madanayakanahalli Police Station and further investigation is underway.
