Bengaluru illegal arms trade busted by CCB arrests two, seizes pistol along with 50 live rounds

The City Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two persons for allegedly supplying illegal firearms in the city and seized a country-made pistol along with 50 live rounds from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Javid Alam (20) from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Syed Masood (26) from Jayanagar in Bengaluru.

City Police Commissioner,Seemanth Kumar Singh told reporters that the arrests were made based on credible information about illegal arms procurement and distribution.

Acting on specific inputs,CCB Inspector Rakshit AK,and his team launched an operation and apprehended the duo.

During investigation,it was found that Syed Masood had allegedly procured firearms illegally from outside the state without any valid licence.Javid Alam is suspected to have supplied the weapons.

Police said one 0.32 mm country-made pistol and 50 live cartridges were recovered from the accused.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior CCB officers,including DCP,Raj Imam Qasim,ACP,
The operation was successfully executed by a team led by ACPs,Mahanand and M.N.Nagaraju, along with Police Inspectors,Balaji V,Rakshit AK,Shivaraju,Hemanth Kumar M,and other staff members of the Central Crime Branch.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the weapon and whether the accused supplied arms to others in the city.
