In a pre-dawn crackdown aimed at preventing the illegal transport of narcotic substances into the city,theNorth Division police conducted a special inspection drive along Tumakuru Road on Friday.
Acting under the guidance of B.S.Nemagouda,Deputy Commissioner of Police,North Division,the operation was led by Venugopal,Assistant Commissioner of Police, Malleswaram Sub-Division.
The special team comprised officers and staff from Srirampura,Nandini Layout,R.M.C.Yard,and Jalahalli Police Stations,along with trained narcotics detection dog squads.
The operation was conducted between 4:00 am and 10:30 am on February 21.
Police thoroughly inspected a total of 253 government and private buses entering Bengaluru via Tumakuru Road from various districts and neighbouring states.
The checks focused on preventing the illegal transportation of narcotic drugs and other suspicious materials into the city.
Officials stated that such surprise inspections will continue at key entry points to the city as part of sustained efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure public safety.
