Bengaluru CCB police arrest RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna in alleged fake document and audio row

The Bengaluru City Cyber Crime Police Station have arrested a Mysuru-based man for allegedly creating fake documents and fabricated audio clips to defame a senior government officer on social media.

The case was registered on February 18,2026,following a complaint filed by senior officer D.B.Natesh,KAS,who had earlier served as Commissioner of MUDA.

In his complaint,he alleged that a person had morphed his photographs,created forged documents and fabricated voice clips,and circulated them on Facebook with the intent to malign his reputation.

During the investigation,cyber crime officials collected digital evidence from the complainant and scrutinised content uploaded on Facebook,including the disputed audio clip.

After obtaining a search warrant from the jurisdictional court,police conducted a search at the accused’s residence in Mysuru and seized materials related to the offence.

The accused has been identified as Snehmayi Krishna, a resident of Mysuru.He was issued notice to appear before the police station and was subsequently questioned in connection with the case.

Police said further investigation is underway to determine the extent of circulation of the defamatory content and whether others were involved in creating or sharing the fabricated material said a senior officer.
