Retired BMTC employee clubbed to death by sons for property worth crores accused arrested by Indiranagar Police

A 70-year-old retired employee of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC)was clubbed to death by his son over a property dispute in Indiranagar on Monday.

The deceased, Munikrishnappa,had reportedly properties worth several crores and had frequent disputes with his children over the distribution of assets.

Initial probe revealed that Munikrishnappa had executed a will transferring some properties in the names of his grandchildren,which is suspected to have intensified tensions within the family.

The incident occurred on Saturday night Munikrishnappa was walking the pet dog when his son Mohan Kumar allegedly escalated into a violent confrontation.

The accused is said to have attacked his father with a hockey stick and an iron rod,causing grievous injuries. Munikrishnappa reportedly collapsed due to heavy bleeding.

Local residents rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

However,he succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.
East Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr.Vikram Amathe said that a complaint by Divya,daughter in law stating that Munikrishnappa had been assaulted while he was out walking his dog.

Police formed two special teams to probe the case and have arrested Mohan Kumar in connection with the incident.The police are also probing the role of other children in the murder for further investigation.
