Woman dies after chain snatching incident in Nelamangala

A 45-year-old woman died after she was pushed to the ground during a chain-snatching incident in front of her house at Huskur village in Madanayakanahalli police limits on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jyothi (45),a resident of Huskur village.

The incident occurred when she stepped out of her house in the morning.

Two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and attempted to snatch the 70-gram gold mangalya chain she was wearing.

When Jyothi resisted,the accused forcefully pulled the chain and pushed her to the ground before fleeing the spot with the gold chain.Jyothi suffered serious injuries after falling unconscious.

She was immediately shifted to a private hospital at Nelamangala,where doctors declared her brought dead, police said.

Family members gathered at the hospital, and scenes of grief were witnessed.Following post-mortem formalities, the body was shifted to Victoria Hospital.

Madanayakanahalli police with senior officers visited the spot,conducted a spot inspection,and registered a case of robbery and death caused during commission of the offence.Efforts are on to identify and trace the accused.
