The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) legal team has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police against the state BJP’s X (formerly Twitter) account handle, alleging the circulation of defamatory content targeting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,Deputy Chief Minister DKShivakumar and other state ministers.
According to the complaint, the BJP’s social media handle allegedly posted images of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and ministers with the caption “Scam Lord,”accompanied by a write-up describing them as part of a“scam empire looting Karnataka day and night.”
The post reportedly used terms such as “loot” and “scam,” which the complainants say were intended to mislead the public and malign the reputation of the elected leaders.
The KPCC legal team alleged that the posts amount to character assassination and were deliberately designed to create confusion and unrest in society.
They have sought legal action against those responsible for publishing the content.
The Cyber Crime Police officials have registered a case under IT act for further investigation.
