Three armed men barged into a jewellery shop and assaulted two youths before fleeing with gold ornaments and cash in broad daylight near Dasanapura bus stop, within Madanayakanahalli police station limits,on Tuesday.
Senior officer told reporters the accused arrived at the shop on a two-wheeler around 5.30 pm,threatened those present with a pistol,and attempted to rob the premises.
A scuffle broke out with two youths,who are the sons of the shop owner,Manikram of Ramdev Jewellers.One of them sustained minor injuries while trying to resist the robbers.
The trio reportedly made away with over 30 grams of gold jewellery and Rs.50,000 in cash before speeding away on the same motorcycle.
The entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed inside the shop.
Confirming the incident,Bengaluru North-West Division DCP,D.L.Nagesh said a case of robbery has been registered based on the complaint filed by the jeweller and assured that efforts are on to trace and arrest the accused at the earliest.
